We have been providing cosmetic dentistry services to our patients for nearly fifteen years and have enjoyed helping Utah residents look their best with beautiful smiles. Under the direction of Dr Call every procedure we undertake is done with the consideration and care necessary to maintain your best smile and keep it that way for a long time to come. Cosmetic dentistry is all about helping you have an attractive smile and beautiful teeth. It may include teeth whitening, cosmetic fillings, dental procedures to align and straighten teeth and other methods that help you look great.
What is Cosmetic Dentistry?
Cosmetic dentistry includes all methods and procedures used by a dentist to ensure that the teeth look great including color, shape, arrangement and alignment and any other aspect of your smile that will help you look your best.
What is Included in Cosmetic Dentistry?
Inlays/Onlays – made from porcelain and ceramic inlays and onlays are a method in which we can repair structural deficiencies in a tooth while keeping a natural, healthy looking appearance for the tooth. In the past amalgams, gold, silver and similar materials were used for “fillings” and gave a clearly unnatural appearance. Now we can create our own inlays and onlays in the office and have you fitted and the inlay bonded usually within the same visit.
Composite Bonding – Chipped, discolored or broken teeth can be restored using a dental material that when cured looks and functions in much the same way your original enamel would look on a tooth. The composite is usually shaped and contoured to fit your mouth naturally and then cured with high intensity light that sets the composite and hardens it to a level ready to endure for years and that looks like it were your own.
Teeth Whitening – You can read more about our teeth whitening procedures here, but as part of our cosmetic dentistry we consider the coloring of your teeth and how to get them to their most attractive, healthy looking color.
Dental Veneers – Composite or porcelains laminates that are attached to a tooth’s surface and are used to cover cracks or chips or give a more natural and attractive look to a tooth or multiple teeth that appear less attractive for whatever reason.
Dental Implants – Another procedure that can be considered both cosmetic and restorative is implants. A prosthetic “root” is embedded in the jaw or mandible and a normal looking crown attached. It can reduce the collapse of the face often associated with tooth loss as well as aiding in the chewing process. Dental implants are generally used after a thorough analysis and consultation with Dr Call as it is one of many methods that can be used to manager situations where a natural tooth is potentially going to require removal.
Dentures – Sometimes there is sufficient tooth loss and or structural insufficiency where the mouth may require the use of dentures. Dentures can be made to look natural and enhance a smile. Often after the use of dentures the smile is improved due to the insufficiencies that existed before the dentures were used. Dr Call has deep experience in both helping you select and then structure your dentures suited to your particular situation. You may read more on our dentures page.
